Community Guidelines
Our shared standards for building a respectful, safe, and authentic dating community.
Our Philosophy
Persona is built on the belief that genuine connections start with authenticity. These guidelines exist to ensure every person on our platform feels safe, respected, and free to be themselves. Violations are taken seriously and enforced consistently.
1. Be Authentic
Persona is designed to match real people based on genuine personality. Authenticity is the foundation of our community.
- Use your real identity. Your profile must represent you — your real name (or preferred first name), your own photos, and honest information about yourself.
- No impersonation. Do not pretend to be someone else, use someone else's photos, or misrepresent your age, gender, or identity.
- No catfishing. Using misleading photos (heavily altered, old photos that no longer represent your appearance, or photos of other people) is prohibited.
- One account per person. Do not create multiple accounts or accounts on behalf of others (except legal guardians creating accounts for users 17+).
- Answer honestly. The personality quiz only works when your responses are genuine. Gaming the quiz undermines your own matches.
2. Be Respectful
Treat every person on Persona with the respect you would want to receive.
- No harassment or bullying. Unwanted contact after being told to stop, repeated messaging after being ignored, name-calling, personal attacks, and intimidation are not tolerated.
- No hate speech. Content that attacks, demeans, or discriminates against people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or medical condition is strictly prohibited.
- Respect boundaries. If someone declines a date, unmatches you, or stops responding, respect their decision. "No" means no — there are no exceptions.
- No body shaming. Comments that mock, shame, or criticize someone's physical appearance are prohibited.
- Be mindful in conversation. Avoid sending excessively personal or intimate messages too early. Read social cues and respect the pace your match is comfortable with.
3. Keep Everyone Safe
Safety is non-negotiable. Help us maintain a safe environment for all users.
3.1 No Violence or Threats
- Do not threaten, incite, glorify, or express support for violence against any person or group.
- Do not share content depicting graphic violence, gore, or self-harm.
- Any credible threat of violence will be reported to law enforcement immediately.
3.2 No Sexual Exploitation or Abuse
- Do not share, request, or distribute non-consensual intimate images (NCII / "revenge porn"). This is illegal in most jurisdictions and results in immediate permanent ban and referral to law enforcement.
- Do not solicit sexual content from minors. Any suspected child sexual abuse material (CSAM) is reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement.
- Do not engage in sexual extortion ("sextortion") — threatening to share intimate content unless demands are met.
3.3 No Illegal Activity
- Do not use Persona to facilitate drug trafficking, weapons sales, human trafficking, prostitution, fraud, or any other illegal activity.
- Do not promote or recruit for extremist organizations or terrorist groups.
3.4 No Minors
- Persona is for users aged 17 and older. Do not create an account if you are under 17.
- Do not post photos of minors (children) in your profile, even if they are your own children. This protects their privacy.
4. Prohibited Content
The following content is not allowed on Persona in profiles, photos, bios, or messages:

- Nudity or sexually explicit images
- Photos of other people without their consent
- Photos of minors (children)
- Graphic violence or gore
- Memes, text-only images, or stock photos as profile pics
- Group photos where you can't be identified
- Photos with drugs, weapons, or illegal items
🚫 Text & Messages
- Hate speech or slurs of any kind
- Unsolicited sexual messages or requests
- Threats of violence or intimidation
- Spam, advertising, or solicitation
- Personal information of others (doxxing)
- Scam links or phishing attempts
- Requests for money or financial details
5. No Scams, Spam, or Commercial Activity
- No romance scams. Do not use fake romantic interest to manipulate someone for money, gifts, or personal information.
- No financial solicitation. Do not ask matches for money, cryptocurrency, gift cards, or investment participation.
- No spam. Do not send identical messages to multiple users, promote products/services, or share referral links.
- No bots. Automated accounts, scripts, or AI-generated personas masquerading as real users are prohibited.
- No external link baiting. Do not direct users to external websites, OnlyFans, social media, or messaging platforms for the purpose of commercial gain.
6. Consent & Offline Behavior
While we cannot monitor interactions outside the app, we take reports of harmful offline behavior seriously:
- Consent is essential. Any sexual interaction — whether online or in person — requires clear, enthusiastic, ongoing consent from all parties.
- No means no. Pressuring, coercing, or guilting someone into any activity they do not want is never acceptable.
- Report offline misconduct. If a Persona user assaults, threatens, stalks, or harasses you in person, report it through the app and contact local law enforcement.
- We act on credible reports. Verified reports of offline assault, harassment, or illegal behavior by a Persona user will result in account termination.
7. Enforcement & Consequences
Violations of these Guidelines result in graduated enforcement based on severity:
Enforcement Tiers
- Tier 1 — Warning First-time minor violations (e.g., borderline profile content, mildly inappropriate messages). You'll receive a warning and be asked to correct the behavior.
- Tier 2 — Temporary Suspension Repeated minor violations or moderate violations (e.g., continued harassment after warning, misleading profile). Account suspended for 7–30 days.
- Tier 3 — Permanent Ban Severe violations or repeated moderate violations (e.g., hate speech, threats, NCII sharing, scams, underage usage, violent threats). Immediate permanent ban with no appeal.
Zero-Tolerance Offenses (Immediate Permanent Ban)
- Sharing or threatening to share non-consensual intimate images
- Any form of child sexual abuse material or grooming
- Credible threats of physical violence
- Sexual assault or verified offline abuse
- Human trafficking or exploitation
- Terrorism or violent extremism
8. How to Report
If you encounter behavior that violates these Guidelines:
- In-App: Tap the ••• menu on any user's profile or in a conversation → Select "Report" → Choose the category → Add details (optional but helpful).
- Email: safety@persona-us.com — include screenshots if possible and the username of the person you're reporting.
- Urgent/Safety: For immediate danger, contact local emergency services (911 in the US) first, then report to us.
What Happens After You Report
- Your report is reviewed by our Safety team within 24 hours (urgent safety reports are prioritized).
- We investigate the reported content and account, which may include reviewing messages and profile history.
- If a violation is confirmed, appropriate action is taken (warning, suspension, or ban).
- You will be notified that action has been taken (we cannot share specific details about another user's enforcement for privacy reasons).
- The reported user is not told who reported them.
9. Appeals Process
If your account has been suspended or banned and you believe the action was taken in error:
- Email appeals@persona-us.com within 30 days of the enforcement action.
- Include your account email, a description of what happened, and why you believe the action was incorrect.
- Appeals are reviewed by a different team member than the one who made the original decision.
- You will receive a response within 14 business days.
- The appeals decision is final.
Note: Zero-tolerance offenses (Section 7) are not eligible for appeal.
10. Our Commitment to You
Persona Group is committed to:
- Transparency: We clearly communicate our rules, how we enforce them, and what happens when they're broken.
- Consistency: We apply these guidelines equally to all users, regardless of subscription status, popularity, or any other factor.
- Continuous Improvement: We regularly review and update these guidelines based on user feedback, emerging trends, and best practices in online safety.
- Privacy in Moderation: We access user messages and content only when a report is filed or when required for safety investigations. We do not proactively read private messages.
- Collaboration: We work with safety organizations, law enforcement, and industry groups to combat abuse and improve our processes.
